Antique Beige Confit Pot

$185.00

Sourced in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, France by Atelier Terrell · Antique · Handmade in France

Dimensions: 10"W x 10"D x 9"H

A beautifully simple vessel with the quiet character of a French farmhouse.

Hand-selected in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, this antique French stoneware confit pot dates to the early 20th century, circa 1910–1920. Its soft gray-beige glaze gives the piece a muted, earthy quality, while its generous proportions and simple form reflect the utilitarian objects once found throughout French kitchens.

Traditionally used for preserving food, confit pots were made to be practical and durable. We love bringing that same sense of utility into the home today. Use it to hold cooking utensils on a kitchen counter, fill it with branches or greenery, or let it stand on its own as a substantial accent on a console or sideboard.

The softly glazed surface has the subtle variations that make antique stoneware so appealing. Its understated color allows it to layer naturally into both traditional and contemporary spaces, adding warmth and texture without competing with the room around it.

We chose this piece for its versatility and restraint. It is an everyday French form elevated by age, beautiful enough to display and practical enough to use.
