Hand-selected by us in Lyon, this late 19th-century faux bamboo chair reflects the playful refinement of the Napoleon III period. Crafted to resemble natural bamboo, its slender frame has a lightweight quality and delicate silhouette that feels both decorative and effortlessly elegant.

Often referred to in France as an “opera chair,” pieces like this were valued for their portability and practical elegance. Today, we love it as much for its sculptural quality as its function. Place it at a writing desk, in an entryway, alongside a console, or use it as an occasional chair wherever a room could use a little more character.
